Space, peace and idyllic quiet are rare luxuries, which you will find at the Moulin de la Camandoule ; an ancient olive oil mill lovingly transformed into a stylish 3 * NN Hotel-Restaurant at the foot of a mediaeval Provencal hilltop village. With a long history, its weathered walls reflect the centuries and remind you of the charm and the seduction of old Provence.
For hotel guests, room service for breakfasts and dinners from November 28, 2020 until the Restaurant reopens.
Reopening of the restaurant scheduled for May 19, 2021
The Moulin has eight air-conditioned bedrooms and two duplex suites (salon plus bedroom a few steps up).
All have en-suite bathrooms which each room furnished in its own individual style with carefully selected furniture and an elegantly rustic Provencal décor.
No two rooms are alike and the intended overall effect is that of a private country house with guest rooms for friends and family rather than a hotel.
The main Salon retains many of the original features and machinery of the old Mill, has a well-stocked bar and , during the cold months huge log fires give out an all-embracing warmth.
“L’Escourtin” the gourmet restaurant has been under the supervision of our chef for the past 25 years, Philippe Choisy. It offers several menus and a carte in traditional style with a Provencal flavour and uses fresh seasonal and local produce whenever possible. In the generally mild climate, lunch is often served on the large terrace, even in winter – and of course during the long, hot summer you dine under the stars.
The Moulin de la Camandoule is situated in its own private grounds of 11 acres which includes a cherry orchard, extensive fields and lawns, a small river, a Gallo-Roman aqueduct which used to bring the water to operate the mill, and a near-Olympic-sized swimming pool (20m x 10m).During the summer - 2 Juin to 9 September inclusive – luncheon is served at the attractive Poolside restaurant which includes a Barbecue and Grill.
